Youth Sports organizations are a great place for children to learn new technical skills, good sportsmanship, and leadership skills that will be utilized on and off the field, courts, pitch, studio, or gymnasium. We all want to make certain children have a safe and secure place for this growth to take place. Our goal is to protect children from physical and emotional harm.
Often, the reality of child sexual abuse may impact some of the children who participate in our sporting organizations. Be prepared to support children who may have been abused and make certain you provide precautions to protect them while they’re in your care. Organizations that do not have child sexual abuse prevention policies and training are at an increased risk of abuse occurring within their organization.
SCARS mission is to reduce the risk of child sexual abuse in our community. We provide the Darkness to Light ‘Stewards of Children’ prevention training to all youth serving organizations in our community at no cost to participants. This prevention training empowers adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse so that more children have a chance to grow up happy and healthy. ‘Stewards of Children’ is the only evidence-informed training program of its kind. Sign up today and learn what you can do to protect the children in your care!
